This is an adventure tour for those in Quest of the Mystical Past. Whilst fitness will not be an issue, stamina, tolerance and your true spirit of adventurism will definitely come to test as you cruise and walk through these truly 'off the beaten' tracks!

Day 01: MOMBASA/NAIROBI - LAMU We shall start our adventure of these historic places by boarding a plane from Mombasa Airport (or Nairobi) to Lamu. On arrival, you will be met by your Historian-Guide and he will transfer you to Lamu Guest House. Check-in and some free time to freshen up before lunch Afternoon guided tour of the Lamu Museum, Swahili House Museum, Lamu Fort and Old German Post Office. Traditional meal this evening at the Lamu Fort with Ali Hippi, entertaining us at his best! Overnight at a Lamu Guest House.
Day 02: LAMU - PATE Early breakfast at the sea front and free morning walk. Early lunch and cruise out to Pate. 2-3 hours of smooth cruising and we arrive at Pate. Check-in at the local guest house and time to relax. Evening, we shall take a walk around Pate old town. Village life will be the highlight of your stay in Pate - you will meet the people and partake their daily chores for a short time; learn how to pound the maize, or make sweet bread or even draw milk from a freshly ground coconut! Dinner and overnight will be at a local guest-house.
Day 03: PATE - SHANGA - SIYU Breakfast at the guest-house with a morning tour of the living town. Cruise to Shanga for a short town tour and later in the afternoon we start our 2-hour walk to Siyu. This will take us through farms and villages rarely frequented by outsiders. Donkeys carrying our luggage will be our partners on this walk. Short rest at one of the local farms where you will be welcomed with ‘madafu’ (green coconut). Upon reaching Siyu, we shall check-in at the local guest-house for much deserved rest. The people of Siyu add value to the beauty with their warm hospitality! The climax of our stay in Siyu will be without a doubt, the Ngoma in the village square - traditional dancers - men dressed in White majestically twirl their sticks and sing to the music of the piper and the slow beating of the drums, illuminated by pressure lamps under a beautiful Starlit sky!
Day 04: SIYU - BURUDIKENI FARM Breakfast at the guest-house and morning tour of SIYU. Thereafter we will walk to Burudikeni farm. On our way there, we will break for a short rest at one of the local farms where we will be welcomed with madafu and coal roasted cashew nuts. Lunch on arrival at Burudikeni. Another one hour’s walk to Atu site after afternoon tea. Dinner and overnight at the farm.
Day 05: BURUDIKENI FARM - CHUNDWA-FAZA - KIWAYU-MKOKONI-LAMU Breakfast and we walk to Faza via Chundwa. Cruise to Mkokoni via Ndau and Kiwayu islands. Lunch in the boat. We will visit the turtle conservation project at Mkokoni. We will then cruise back to Lamu via Mtangawanda - a journey of approximately 5 hours. Arrive Lamu in the evening. Check-in at the Lamu Guest House. Dinner in a restaurant in town. Overnight.
Day 06: LAMU - TAKWA - LAMU Leisurely breakfast and thereafter we cruise across to Takwa for a daytrip. Visit of the Ruins and surroundings with our historian-guide. Enjoy a picnic lunch and continue discovering other parts of the island. Return to Lamu for dinner and overnight.
Day 07: LAMU - MOMBASA After breakfast, we take a walk along the waterfront to Shela Beach where you can enjoy a swim or just walk around this quaint village or shopping. Lunch at the Island Hotel and then transfer to the Manda Airstrip to board your airplane back to Mombasa ( or Nairobi).
