Canoeing- Tana River Camp uses motorized canoes to explore the wild reaches of the Delta in search of game. This is great way to explore these winding channel and open stretches of water, and a unique and unobtrusive way to approach and observe wild animals.
The river has several large pods of hippos and plenty of crocodiles, and the banks and channels are rich in birdlife. This is also a great way to see land mammals as they approach the river to drink towards the end of the day.
The camp also provides fishing equipment to use on the river.
Trekking- This is excellent walking country. Guides are available at Tana River camp for game and birding walks into the bush. Whether you are a keen birder, or would like to get close to game on foot, this is the perfect way to explore the wilderness. The guides have an excellent local knowledge and are well versed at tracking and approaching game. The endless deserted beach is perfect for long relaxing walks.
